Just some paintings I've been doing lately....WIP of the still life, the kitchen scene is unfinished....the 2nd one is of our cat Yeti

Here's a new still life I'm working on, hopefully as a future portfolio piece. This is just the start, I'm trying to keep Will's advice in mind regarding composition, organizing elements in a triangle, not having things evenly spaced, using overlaps to create space, having rhythms to guide the eye. When I get around to the actual solid painting, my focus will be on understanding edges better.

interiors

Branching out...haven't really done many interiors before, but since I'm working on my portfolio illustrations, they're good practice. The first one isn't finished but I think I'll get around to it eventually.

I've also been ridiculously inspired by Cornwell, Sundblom, Harry Anderson, and Oleg Lomakin :)

I still have a bunch of life drawings to post, etc. But I'll get to that later. Here are some recent paintings and a better pic of the self portrait, plus a portrait of my roommate Sean.
